THIRD-PARTY DATA AND FONT NOTICES ================================= This site redistributes transformed public-data extracts and two webfonts. They are not covered by any license that may apply to the site's original code or copy. GeoNames cities data -------------------- The city and time-zone lookup at: tools/compatibility/data/cities.txt is a compact, transformed subset derived from the GeoNames cities15000 gazetteer extract. The project source snapshot is: source-data/cities15000.txt Changes made for this site: only feature-class P records with population at least 50,000 are retained; rows are stable-sorted by descending population; each row is reduced to name, country and first-level administrative code, one-decimal coordinates, and an index into an alphabetically sorted unique IANA time-zone table. GeoNames data is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0): https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Attribution: GeoNames — https://www.geonames.org/ Official data README and source: https://download.geonames.org/export/dump/readme.txt https://download.geonames.org/export/dump/cities15000.zip GeoNames provides the data "as is", without warranty or any representation of accuracy, timeliness or completeness. U.S. Census Bureau data ----------------------- The age-benchmark snapshot at: tools/how-over/data/benchmarks.json includes transformed national estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau's 2024 American Community Survey 1-Year Detailed Tables B12002, B25007, and B25045. The calculator uses person counts for marital history and occupied-housing-unit counts for homeownership and vehicle availability. It also includes weighted tabulations from the 2024 ACS 1-Year Public Use Microdata Sample for men's personal-income distributions and owner-occupied-home benchmarks. The owner-occupancy measure uses male reference persons as a proxy and does not identify legal titleholders. National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey ------------------------------------------------ The Dating Discourse Edition's measured-height and body-mass-index benchmarks are transformed weighted estimates from the National Center for Health Statistics' August 2021-August 2023 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. The snapshot uses the public demographics and body-measures files, including RIAGENDR, RIDAGEYR, BMXHT, BMXBMI, and the examination sample weight WTMEC2YR. It combines the OPPSEXANY and SAMESEXANY recodes, excludes responses that cannot be classified, and uses the final survey weight WGT2022_2023. The source represents the U.S. household population ages 15-49; the calculator uses ages 18-49. It uses the survey's family weights, five implicates, reference-person age groups, and the Federal Reserve's constructed total-financial-assets variable. ACS PUMS personal income is first adjusted to 2024 dollars with the source ADJINC factor and then converted to June 2026 dollars. Both conversions use the not-seasonally-adjusted U.S. city average Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U), all items.
